SELF LOVE CURRICULUM

The Self-love Curriculum emerged as the culmination of decades of observing interpersonal dynamics and concluding that the root of so much of the suffering we experience in our world is attributable to low self-esteem. When we don't love and respect ourselves, no matter how charitable we believe ourselves to be, we are not capable of truly loving and honoring others. Every society has a version of the "Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." The presumption is we are ultimately "selfish" at our core; and it is not a bad thing if it is used for good. Cultural conditioning has taught us that it is a virtue to honor others more than ourselves, but if we don't honor ourselves, we inevitably move into distortions of over compensating (greed and power quests) or under compensating (martyrdom and not taking responsibility for ourselves). We start with the self to know how to treat others.
The curriculum is a 3 part series comprised of 21 days of exercises sent to you via text or email. Studies have shown that it takes 21 days to break a habit. The curriculum is designed to break the habit of self deprecation in whatever form it takes and replace it with a healthy habit of self-honoring.
The first cycle ("undergraduate" level) teaches you how to connect your mind and body so that you can recognize the non-beneficial or self-sabotaging patterns that you engage in through unconscious behaviors. It's like the equivalent of operant conditioning behavioral models in clinical psychology. The second cycle (“masters” level) builds on the awareness cultivated in the first level to start de-conditioning those habitual barriers to self-esteem through meditation or mindfulness practices. And the final 21 days (“doctoral" level) offer tools for “reprogramming” so that self-affirming behaviors become the personality default patterns that reflect a sense of love for the whole self.
